Yucca Fries
Ingredients:
- 1 large yucca
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Peel the yucca and cut it into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place the yucca strips in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Drain the yucca strips and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Toss the yucca strips in the spice mixture until evenly coated.
- Working in batches, fry the yucca strips in the hot oil for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- If desired, sprinkle the fries with grated parmesan cheese while they are still hot.
- Serve hot and enjoy your homemade yucca fries!
