Yeast Bread

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf into a greased bread pan.
  6. Cover the pan with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, until it turns golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
