Yams

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Wash and peel the yams. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the saucepan. Stir until well combined.
  5. Place the yam cubes in a large bowl and pour the brown sugar mixture over them. Toss until the yams are evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the yams to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the yams are tender.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
