Yaki Udon
Ingredients:
- 1 pound udon noodles
- 8 ounces sliced chicken or pork
- 1 cup sliced vegetables (such as carrots, bell peppers, and cabbage)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon sake or dry sherry
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sake or sherry, and black pepper to make the sauce. Set aside.
- In a large pan or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and stir fry for 30 seconds.
- Add sliced meat and continue to stir fry until cooked through.
- Add the sliced vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add the cooked udon noodles and sauce to the pan. Stir fry until everything is well coated and heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
