Xylitol Sweetened Desserts

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, xylitol, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. If desired, fold in any optional ingredients for added flavor and texture.
  6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.
