Xylitol Sweetened Desserts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup xylitol
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit for extra flavor and texture
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, xylitol, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- If desired, fold in any optional ingredients for added flavor and texture.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.
