Xia (Shrimp in Chinese Cuisine)
Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice wine
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice wine, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, vegetable oil, sugar, and black pepper.
- Add the shrimp to the marinade and stir to coat evenly.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat sesame oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until pink and cooked through.
- Sprinkle green onions on top of the shrimp and cook for an additional minute.
- Serve hot over rice, noodles, or with your favorite vegetables.
