Xia (Shrimp in Chinese Cuisine)

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice wine, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, vegetable oil, sugar, and black pepper.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade and stir to coat evenly.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat sesame oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  5. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until pink and cooked through.
  6. Sprinkle green onions on top of the shrimp and cook for an additional minute.
  7. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or with your favorite vegetables.
