Xalapa-style Coffee

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the ground coffee and cinnamon stick to the boiling water.
  3. Reduce heat and let the coffee simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit for another 5 minutes.
  5. Strain the coffee into a mug or carafe.
  6. In another saucepan, heat the heavy cream and brown sugar on medium heat. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  7. Pour the sweetened cream into the coffee and stir well.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Xalapa-style coffee.
