Wiener Schnitzel

  1. Prepare your workstation by setting up three shallow dishes for dredging the meat - one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  2. Take each slice of meat and pound it with a meat tenderizer until it is thin and even (approx. 1/4 inch thick).
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Season both sides of each slice of meat with the spice mixture.
  5. Start by dredging each slice in flour, shaking off any excess.
  6. Dip the slices in beaten eggs, making sure to coat both sides.
  7. Finally, coat each slice with breadcrumbs, pressing them on gently to make sure they stick.
  8. In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  9. Carefully place each slice of breaded meat into the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  10. Remove the Wiener Schnitzel from the pan and place on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
  11. Serve hot, with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the meat.
