Wheat Bread
Ingredients:
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast, warm water, and honey. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast starts to foam.
- Add in the olive oil, salt, and whole wheat flour. Mix until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough back in the mixing bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 1 hour in a warm, draft-free place.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and shape it into a loaf on a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Cover the loaf with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) while the dough is rising.
- Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes until it is golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
