Vanilla Ice Cream

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  2. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. If desired, add in any mix-ins such as chocolate chips or chopped nuts during the last 5 minutes of churning.
  4. Once churned, transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Before serving, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften.
