  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
  7. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool before frosting.
