Upside-Down Banana Bread
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Peel and mash bananas in a large mixing bowl.
- Add melted butter and mix well.
- Stir in baking soda and salt.
- Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add flour, stirring until just moistened.
- If desired, fold in chopped walnuts.
- Spread mixture evenly into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then flip onto a serving platter while still warm.
