Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

  1. In a large pot of boiling water, blanch the cabbage leaves for 3-5 minutes, until wilted but still slightly firm. Remove from water and set aside to cool.
  2. In a separate pan, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onions are softened. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add cooked rice, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the pan with the ground beef. Stir to combine.
  4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef and rice mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll up, tucking in the sides as you go. Place the rolls in a baking dish, seam-side down.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the edges of the cabbage are slightly crispy.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your unstuffed cabbage rolls!
