Truffles
Ingredients:
- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: chopped nuts, sprinkles, or other toppings
Instructions:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate, heavy cream, and butter.
- Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until the chocolate and butter are fully melted and combined with the cream.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is firm enough to scoop.
- Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out the chilled chocolate mixture and roll into balls about 1 inch in diameter.
- Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or toppings of your choice. Place on a wax paper-lined tray or plate.
- Refrigerate the truffles for another 30 minutes to set.
- Enjoy your homemade truffles or store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
