Stone Crab Claws
Ingredients:
- 1 lb stone crab claws
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Butter for dipping
Instructions:
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Once the water has come to a boil, add a generous amount of salt and stir to dissolve.
- Gently add the stone crab claws to the boiling water and reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Let the claws simmer for 8-10 minutes, until they turn a bright red color.
- Remove the claws from the pot with tongs and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
- Once the claws have cooled, use a crab cracker or a rolling pin to crack the shells and remove the meat from the claws.
- Serve the crab claws with lemon wedges and melted butter for dipping.
