Stir Fry
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound boneless chicken or beef, sliced into thin strips
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup carrots, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup snow peas
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over high heat.
- Add the chicken or beef and stir fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the garlic, onion, and red bell pepper. Stir fry for 1-2 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add the broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and snow peas. Stir fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Return the chicken or beef to the skillet and mix with the vegetables.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the stir fry and stir until all ingredients are coated.
- Continue to cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
