Stew
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions:
- Season beef cubes with salt and pepper.
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
- Remove beef from pot and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add carrots and potatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Return beef to the pot and pour in beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf.
- Stir everything together and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Remove bay leaf before serving.
