Spaghetti
Ingredients:
- 1 pound dried spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.
- Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, stirring occasionally.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
- Once the beef is fully cooked, add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and basil to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander and add it to the skillet with the sauce.
- Stir the pasta and sauce together until well combined and heated through, about 2-3
