Shortbread

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and powdered sugar.
  2. Add in the softened butter and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, mix until the dough comes together. If the dough seems too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it comes together.
  3. Press the dough into a greased 9 inch pan.
  4. Poke holes in the dough with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing into wedges.
  7. Serve and enjoy your homemade shortbread!
