Shepherd's Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Stir in the carrots and frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and brown gravy mix. Pour into the skillet with the meat and vegetables.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the gravy thickens and the vegetables are tender.
- Transfer the meat and vegetable mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the meat mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the filling is heated through.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
