Shepherd's Pie

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the carrots and frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and brown gravy mix. Pour into the skillet with the meat and vegetables.
  6. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the gravy thickens and the vegetables are tender.
  7. Transfer the meat and vegetable mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  8. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the meat mixture.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the filling is heated through.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
