Salisbury Steak
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 6 oval-shaped patties.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned.
- Add beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Gradually add the cornstarch mixture to the skillet, stirring constantly. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the Salisbury steak with the gravy spooned over the top. Enjoy!
