Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the butter, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
  4. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  5. Gently loosen the skin over the breast and thighs of the turkey.
  6. Using your hands, rub the butter mixture under the skin and all over the outside of the turkey.
  7. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  8. Cover the turkey loosely with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
  9. Roast the turkey for about 15 minutes per pound, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the turkey reads 165°F (74°C).
  10. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, remove the foil and baste the turkey with the juices in the pan.
  11. Once the turkey is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for about 20 minutes before carving and serving.
