Quiche Lorraine
Ingredients:
- 1 pie crust (9 inch)
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup chopped onion/li>
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook onion until soft and translucent. Drain off any excess fat.
- In a medium bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add crumbled bacon, onion and cheese; stir well. Pour mixture into pie crust.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. If necessary, cover edges of crust with foil to prevent burning.
- Let quiche cool for 10 minutes before serving.
