Pulled Pork

Instructions:

  1. Pull the pork shoulder from the fridge and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and salt.
  3. Rub the spice mixture over the entire pork shoulder, covering it completely.
  4. In a slow cooker, add the chicken broth and place the seasoned pork shoulder on top.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
  6. Once the pork is fully cooked and tender, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  7. Return the shredded pork back to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining juices in the pot.
  8. Add in the BBQ sauce and mix well. Let it cook on low for another 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  9. Serve the pulled pork on buns, topped with coleslaw and pickles if desired.
