Pound Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until everything is well combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the pound cake cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before removing and placing on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve as desired, with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or on its own.
