Oyster Stew

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the flour and stir until well combined.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk and whisk until smooth.
  4. Add the oysters and their liquor to the pot and bring to a simmer.
  5. Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the edges of the oysters begin to curl.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with a sprinkle of paprika on top.
