Orange Sorbet

  1. Peel the oranges and remove any white pith.
  2. Cut the oranges into small pieces and place them in a blender.
  3. In a small saucepan, mix together the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Add the sugar syrup and lemon juice to the blender with the oranges.
  5. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Pour the mixture into a shallow metal or glass dish and place it in the freezer.
  7. After 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and mix the mixture, breaking up any ice crystals.
  8. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours, until the sorbet is smooth and frozen.
  9. Serve the sorbet in bowls or glasses, garnished with mint leaves if desired.
