Olive Bread
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped black olives
- 1/2 cup chopped green olives
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Stir the yeast mixture and olive oil into the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and knead in the chopped olives and Parmesan cheese.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased 9x5 inch bread pan.
- Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, until it is golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing and serving.
