Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Leave about 2 inches of space between each ball of dough.
  6. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
