Noodles and Company Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 4 cups macaroni noodles
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
Instructions:
- Cook the macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk until fully combined.
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to create a smooth sauce.
- Once the sauce begins to thicken, add in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir until fully melted and combined.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the sauce from heat and pour it over the cooked macaroni noodles. Stir until the noodles are fully coated.
- In a separate pan, toast the panko breadcrumbs over medium heat until golden brown.
- Sprinkle the toasted breadcrumbs over the mac and cheese.
