Noodles and Company Mac and Cheese

  1. Cook the macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a separate pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk until fully combined.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to create a smooth sauce.
  5. Once the sauce begins to thicken, add in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir until fully melted and combined.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove the sauce from heat and pour it over the cooked macaroni noodles. Stir until the noodles are fully coated.
  8. In a separate pan, toast the panko breadcrumbs over medium heat until golden brown.
  9. Sprinkle the toasted breadcrumbs over the mac and cheese.
