New York Strip Steak

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Remove steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This will ensure even cooking.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan to high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  3. Brush both sides of the steaks with olive oil and generously season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place steaks on the hot grill or grill pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare or until desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness - 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.
  5. While the steaks are cooking, heat a small pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and thyme sprig. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Once done, remove steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute and make for a juicier steak.
  7. Once rested, brush the steaks with the garlic butter mixture on both sides.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your perfectly cooked New York strip steaks!
