Naan Bread
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt, milk, water, melted butter, and egg.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes on a floured surface, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rest for 1 hour.
- After the dough has rested, preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle.
- Cook the naan bread on the skillet or griddle for about 2 minutes on each side, until it puffs up and has brown spots.
- Serve warm and enjoy with your favorite curry or dip.
