Meatball Sub
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1-2 inches in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a separate saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Place the hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes, until lightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven and top each roll with the meatballs and marinara sauce.
- Top each sub with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese
