Marinara Sauce

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and translucent, about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and let the sauce cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and let the sauce cool for a few minutes before using or storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
