Marinara Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and translucent, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and let the sauce cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the sauce cool for a few minutes before using or storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
