Macaroons

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar. Continue beating until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add in granulated sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and food coloring (if desired).
  5. Sift in the almond flour mixture and gently fold into the egg white mixture until fully combined.
  6. Spoon mixture into a piping bag and pipe onto a lined baking sheet in small rounds.
  7. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  8. Let the macaroons sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes, until a skin forms on the surface of the cookies.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the macaroons are set and can easily be lifted off the baking sheet.
  10. Let the macaroons cool completely before filling with your desired filling.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
