Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the flour and salt, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Remove the pot from heat and add in the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and well combined with the white sauce.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, then pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the bread crumbs and grated parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the macaroni and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious homemade macaroni and cheese!
