Klondike Bar
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 12 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 12 oz milk chocolate, chopped
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream, sugar, condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- In a double boiler, melt the dark and milk chocolate along with the coconut oil, stirring until smooth.
- Line a 9x9 inch square baking dish with parchment paper. Pour half of the melted chocolate onto the bottom of the dish and spread evenly.
- Place the dish in the freezer for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the crushed graham crackers and chopped almonds.
- Remove the dish from the freezer and pour the cooled cream mixture on top of the hardened chocolate. Sprinkle the graham cracker and almond mixture on top.
- Put the dish back in the freezer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove the dish from the freezer and pour the remaining melted chocolate on top. Spread evenly to cover the cream and graham cracker layers.
- Place the dish back in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is completely hardened.
