Key Lime Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 (14 ounces) can of sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup key lime juice
- 1 tablespoon grated lime zest
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
- lime slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
- Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish, covering the bottom and sides evenly.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until light and fluffy, then stir in the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared crust.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
- Let the pie cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the confectioner's sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Serve slices of key lime pie topped with a dollop of whipped cream and garnished with lime slices, if desired.
