  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a 15x10 inch jellyroll pan with parchment paper and grease lightly.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add 1/2 cup of sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Gradually add remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, water, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add flour mixture to egg yolk mixture and mix until well combined.
  6. Gently fold in beaten egg whites to the egg yolk mixture.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the cake is done and springs back when touched.
  9. Sprinkle a clean kitchen towel with confectioners' sugar. Loosen edges of cake from pan and turn out onto prepared towel.
