Indian Fry Bread
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly add in the warm water, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a ball and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep saucepan or fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Divide the dough into smaller balls and flatten them into disks.
- Using tongs, carefully place the dough disks into the hot oil.
- Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite savory or sweet toppings!
