Iced Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup melted butter, divided
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in the warm milk. Add the white sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs, and mix well. Gradually add in the flour, stirring until the dough becomes smooth.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Brush 1/4 cup of melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the top.
- Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long side. Cut the roll into 12 equal size pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Brush the remaining melted butter over the top of the rolls.
