Hoisin Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, peanut butter, garlic, ginger, and Chinese five-spice powder.
- Whisk until well combined and smooth in texture.
- Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to a sterilized jar or container.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
