Halva
Ingredients:
- 1 cup semolina
- 1/2 cup ghee or unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
Instructions:
- In a medium-sized pot, melt the ghee or butter over medium heat.
- Add the semolina and stir continuously for 5-6 minutes until it turns golden brown.
- In a separate pot, mix the sugar, water, and cardamom powder and heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Slowly pour the sugar mixture into the pot with the semolina, stirring constantly to avoid clumps.
- Add the chopped nuts and continue stirring until the halva thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
- Remove from heat and pour into a greased pan. Use a spatula to smooth out the surface.
- Let it cool for 15-20 minutes, then cut into squares or diamond shapes. Serve and enjoy!
