Grits

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add 1 cup of grits and reduce heat to low.
  3. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. In a separate small pot, heat 1 cup of milk on low heat.
  5. Slowly pour the warm milk into the grits, stirring constantly.
  6. Add 1/2 tsp of salt and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 cup of butter until melted.
  8. Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheese until well combined.
  9. Serve in bowls and top with desired toppings.
