Glazed Donuts

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness.
  5. Using a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter, cut out donut shapes and transfer them to a floured baking sheet.
  6. In a large pot, heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Gently place donuts into the hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes, until lightly golden brown on each side.
  8. Remove donuts from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a shallow bowl until smooth.
