Fried Calamari
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of cleaned calamari rings
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of pepper
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of paprika
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- Oil for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- In a separate bowl, pour buttermilk over the calamari rings and let them soak for 5 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Remove the calamari rings from the buttermilk and toss them in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Shake off any excess flour and carefully place the calamari rings into the hot oil.
- Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the calamari from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy!
