Fried Calamari

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. In a separate bowl, pour buttermilk over the calamari rings and let them soak for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Remove the calamari rings from the buttermilk and toss them in the flour mixture until well coated.
  5. Shake off any excess flour and carefully place the calamari rings into the hot oil.
  6. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Using a slotted spoon, remove the calamari from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy!
