French Fries
Ingredients:
- 5 medium russet potatoes
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt
- Optional seasonings: garlic powder, paprika, onion powder
Instructions:
- Preheat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Wash and peel potatoes. Cut them into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide.
- Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain and dry the potato strips with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.
- Carefully place potato strips in the hot oil, frying in small batches for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove fries from hot oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- Sprinkle with salt and any optional seasonings while still hot.
- Serve and enjoy!
