Fondue
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of Gruyere cheese
- 1 pound of Emmental cheese
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 cup of dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
Instructions:
- Grate the Gruyere and Emmental cheese and set aside.
- Cut the clove of garlic in half and rub it on the inside of a fondue pot or a heavy saucepan.
- Pour the white wine and lemon juice in the pot and heat over medium heat until it simmers.
- Add handfuls of the grated cheese to the pot, stirring until melted before adding more.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of cold water and add it to the melted cheese mixture to thicken it.
- Transfer the pot to a fondue burner or leave it on low heat.
- Using skewers, dip the bread cubes into the fondue, stirring occasionally to prevent the cheese from hardening at the bottom.
- Enjoy your cheesy, gooey fondue with friends and family!
