Focaccia Bread
Ingredients:
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 3/4 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of flour, yeast, and salt.
- Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 3/4 cups of warm water to the flour mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup of flour until the dough becomes smooth and slightly sticky.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10-15 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out onto a greased 9x13 inch baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, and sea salt.
- Use your fingers to poke indentations all over the dough.
- Spread the olive oil mixture over the dough, making sure to get it into the indentations.
- Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
- Bake the focaccia
