Focaccia Bread

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 3/4 cups of warm water to the flour mixture. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup of flour until the dough becomes smooth and slightly sticky.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Once the dough has risen, roll it out onto a greased 9x13 inch baking sheet.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, and sea salt.
  9. Use your fingers to poke indentations all over the dough.
  10. Spread the olive oil mixture over the dough, making sure to get it into the indentations.
  11. Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
  12. Bake the focaccia
