Dumplings
Ingredients:
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- To assemble the dumplings, place a spoonful of the filling onto a dumpling wrapper. Dip your finger in some water and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal. Repeat until all wrappers are filled.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Place a single layer of dumplings in the pan and cook until the bottoms are lightly browned, about 2-3 minutes.
- Carefully pour 1/2 cup of water into the pan and cover with a lid. Let the dumplings steam for about 8-10 minutes, until the water has evaporated and the wrappers are slightly translucent.
- Repeat with the remaining dumplings. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
